PWP Removes Pain, Restores Dignity to Shirley Parker:

Shirley Parker, age 76, lives at the Parkview Nursing Home and loves her baby doll.  When the Surgicenter staff wheeled her into the OR, her baby doll came along for the ride.

That doll may have been her good luck charm.  Because of her extreme grinding, Parker was originally scheduled for 12 extractions, but the doctor saved all but four and provided enough care to last her five years or more.

Her daughter Patricia Parker said, “The staff was outstanding.  Me and my sisters, we loved them.  Danielle (Saienni) treated Mom as if she was her relative.  She went over everything with me at the office and met us at the Surgicenter for a walk through with the nurses, took time to familiarize my mom with everything that was going on. The day of the surgery, Danielle was there to meet us and was right there by my mom’s side...rubbing her arm, talking to her, making sure she was comfortable and stayed calm.”

Saienni was most proud of how Parker handled pre-op.  “She had a finger stick, an IV, a blood pressure cuff and pulse-ox.  She did fine with it even though she typically can’t tolerate even the blood pressure cuff well.”

For Patricia, though, it was a phone call that made a lasting impression.  “What was so sweet, after everything over, Danielle called me to see how Mom did.  She did great.”
